A study for the main figure in the altarpiece of Saint Charles Borromaeus in glory in the Pisani chapel of S. Nicolò dei Tolentini, Venice, painted c. 1618.[1] It differs slightly from the painting, where the figure is turned a bit further to the right, his left arm is held further from the body, and his head is seen at a slightly different angle. The altarpiece appears to have been heavily repainted (Ward Neilson, loc. cit.).
